Cossatot foundation charters Young Alumni Board
The University of Arkansas Cossatot Foundation recently chartered and welcomed seven new members to the Young Alumni Board.
Board members are UA Cossatot graduates under the age of 40 from the college’s service area. Founding board members include Keely Butler of Foreman, Ocshabba Wells of Nashville, Eduardo Medina of Wickes, Montie Hennard of De Queen, Martega Bennett Walton of De Queen, Kortney Ashley of Ashdown and Angel Espinoza of De Queen.
The Young Alumni Board exists to utilize a community of young alumni leaders and to enrich the lives of UA Cossatot students, alumni and service area community. The YAB supports the UA Cossatot Alumni Association, foundation and college activities and assists in creating opportunities for UAC alumni to build a lifelong relationship with UA Cossatot and other alumni.
During the meeting, the group elected Hennard as president, Ashley as vice president and Butler as secretary. The group also approved the YAB bylaws.
Hennard credits UA Cossatot for influencing her educational and character development through close student-instructor relationships and quality education.
“I love UAC, and I want others to experience the same connection to the school and faculty as I did. Being a part of this board is incredibly humbling, and keeps me connected to home,” Hennard stated in a press release.
