Dine on the Line

Event sold out, but there is still plenty of fun for those without tickets

-

If you were planning to take a seat at the bg table for tonight’s Dine on the Line in downtown Texarkana, we hope you already have your tickets.

That’s because the fourth annual annual event is already sold out.

But never fear, there is still plenty to do even if you don’t get to enjoy the actual dinner—catered by Verona on Broad—itself.

A Kids Corner will be open at the Discovery Place museum with a variety of activities geared toward younger folks. There is a $5 admission charge.

For adult enjoyment, this year’s Dine on the Line incorporates Oktoberfest celebrations. There will be craft brewers on hand to share their beverages with those of legal drinking age. There is an admission charge to the beer area, too.

But there is plenty of free fun to be had. Vendors will have booths for your shopping pleasure. And a variety of musicians will be performing starting at 4 p.m. when Caroline Joyce takes the stage. She is followed 25 minutes later by the Silvermoon Children’s Theatre presentation of numbers from the Broadway musical “Annie.”

A few minutes later, Mark Meadows will perform on the guitar, with Jase Bryant taking over at 5 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m. you can enjoy Randy Altenbaumer on the piano playing ragtime, including works by Texarkana’s own Scott Joplin. The Evolution of Dance by St. James Day School students follows and then the Texarkana Jazz Orchestra performs.

At 7:15 pm. there is the T-Town Line Dance. Stacy James Mayo will sing with the TJO at 7:30 p.m. and the evening wraps up with Ethan Miller on the violin.

If you have a ticket to Dine on the Line, then you are already eager for the evening to begin. But even if you missed out, you can still have a lot of fun tonight in downtown Texarkana.
