PGISD wins commendation

Pleasant Grove Independent School District is the latest municipal agency to be applauded by the Texas Comptroller’s Transparency Stars program.

PGISD recently received a Transparency Star in the area of traditional finances for making its spending and revenue information easily accessible online.

“By providing meaningful financial data in addition to visual tools and analysis of its revenues and expenditures, Pleasant Grove ISD has shown a true commitment to Texas taxpayers.

This effort achieves the goals set by my office’s Transparency Stars program,” Comptroller Glenn Hegar said. “I am pleased to award Pleasant Grove ISD a star for its accomplishments.”

Fewer than 100 school districts have received a star.

The comptroller’s office launched the program in March 2016 to recognize cities, counties and school districts making strides in government transparency.

The agencies can apply for stars in the areas of traditional finances, contracts and procurement, economic development, public pensions and debt obligations.
