MAUREEN MIERS

Peggy Maureen Miers, age 87, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at her daughter’s home.

Mrs. Miers was born August 25, 1931 in Elizabeth, Louisiana. She was co-owner of South Haven Golf Club for 43 years, member of the First Baptist Church, Texarkana, member of the Ruth Sunday School Class, member of the Texarkana Porcelain Art Club and was president from 1998-2002, having won many blue ribbons for her delicate art pieces

She was preceded in death by her husband, M.S. “Buddy” Miers; parents, E.D. and Flossie Tilton and by a brother, Edward D. Tilton.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sara Miers of Texarkana, TX; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Darryl Hague of Texarkana, TX; one brother and sisterin-law, Kenneth and Alice Tilton of Sulphur, LA; seven grandchildren, Courtney Bone, Kevin Harris, Nathan Miers, Joshua Miers , Matthew Hague, Andrew Hague and Robert Hague and their families; one special sister-in-law, Gloria Miers of Plano, TX; one special caregiver, Juanita Burris; many nieces, nephews, family and friends and one special couch buddy, Marty (Marteenie Weenie)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Texarkana Atrium with the Rev. Larry Sims and Dr. Jeff Schreve officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
