James Wade Bourne Fowler has ended his journey on earth to enter his eternal home. Wade passed away at 12:15 pm on July 5th 2019 after a lengthy battle of several health issues.

Wade was born September 23, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana to F.E. and Catherine Bourne Fowler.

He graduated from Texas High School in 1957. Wade attended Texarkana Junior College immediatel­y following High School graduation where he was an exceptiona­l athlete and member of the football team. He participat­ed on the 1957 Junior College National Championsh­ip TEAM and achieved the honor of becoming First All American.

He met his bride, Carolyn, while attending Texas High. They married following Carolyn’s graduation and celebrated 60 years of marriage. They have two sons, Wade Fowler, Jr. and Scott P. Fowler.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Catherine Fowler. As well as his two sisters, Frances Ann Long and Patricia Lee Brooks along with one brother F.E. Fowler Jr. “Sonny”.

One of Wade’s greatest accomplish­ments was being a Business Owner and working side by side with his two beloved sons. They worked together until failing health forced his retirement.

Another one of Wade’s proudest achievemen­ts was obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A & M University Texarkana at the age of 65.

Wade is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn along with his two sons, Wade Jr. and wife Kim and Scott. He is also survived by his only granddaugh­ter, Hillary Fowler Cloud and her husband, Austin Cloud. His most earnest prayer and dream was to live long enough to meet his great granddaugh­ter, Fowler Grace Cloud and that he did.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Saint Edwards Church Building Fund or Heritage Hospice of Texarkana.

Memorial Mass will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at St. Edwards Catholic Church under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown.
