Lady Panthers roll to win over Pirates

PITTSBURG, Texas — Lannah Huddleston served in nine points to go along with her two blocks and eight kills as Ashdown swept Pittsburg, 25-18, 25-23, 25-23, in a varsity volleyball match.

Porsha Randle had eight service points and 17 assists, while teammate Mahkia Cook had five kills and five blocks for the Lady Panthers (13-4).

Kylie Erwin slapped in 11 points and put down three kills to lead Ashdown’s freshmen to a 25-13, 25-15 victory.

Journey Pope had eight points and three kills for the Panthers.

Subvarsity

Football Razorbacks shut out Cardinals

TEXARKANA, Ark. — Layton Lammers threw a touchdown pass and ran for two more scores to lead Arkansas High’s junior varsity past Camden Fairview, 20-0.

Lammers found Logan Williams on a 56-yard pass for a touchdown. Lammers’ two touchdown runs came on a 1-yard sneak and a 13-yard run.

Jackson Tye had a 2-point conversion run for the Hogs.

Graydon Martin made an intercepti­on and returned it 20 yards for Arkansas High, and teammate Patrick Hall recovered a fumble.

The Razorbacks’ jayvee (2-0) plays at Magnolia on Monday.

Volleyball

Lady Backs too tought

TEXARKANA, Ark. — McKenzie Smith smacked in eight service points to lead North Heights to a 25-14, 25-12 sweep over Ashdown in an eighth-grade volleyball match on Monday.

Chrystaria Horton contribute­d seven service points for the Lady Backs.

Kendra Jones had the hot hand as she fired in 17 service points, including four aces, as North Heights swept the Lady Panthers, 25-14, 25-14, in the seventh-grade match.

Taylor Pascarella and Kanahynia Davis each had five points for the Lady Backs.

Lady Leopards A teams sweep

TEXARKANA, Texas — Kourtney Howard slapped in 13 points to lead Liberty-Eylau’s eighth-grade A team to a 25-20, 25-14, sweep over Pittsburg.

The Lady Leopards’ eighth-grade B team fell, 25-7, 25-11.

KC Otwell served in 14 points, and Liberty-Eylau earned a 25-20, 25-16 win over the Lady Pirates in the seventh-grade A match.

The Leopards’ seventh-grade B squad lost to Pittsburg, 25-18, 25-16.

PG A teams each win

TEXARKANA, Texas — Whitney Thorton slapped in 11 service points as Pleasant Grove’s eighthgrad­e A squad swept North Lamar, 25-15, 25-16.

Fallon Anthony had 10 service points in the win for the Lady Hawks (10-0).

Lilly Buck served in six points, but Pleasant Grove fell in the eighth-grade B match, 25-22, 11-6.

Julianne Naples served in a solid 17 points to lead the Hawks (100) over the Panthers in the seventh-grade A contest, 25-6, 25-7.

Ellis Miller contribute­d nine service points for PG.

Simone Williams fired in 10 points for the Hawks’ seventh-grade B team, and Pleasant Grove split with North Lamar, 25-17, 12-15.

Avery sweeps James Bowie

AVERY, Texas — Madison Kleme served in 10 points as Avery swept James Bowie, 25-19, 25-13 in a junior high A team volleyball match.

Trinity Abbott slapped in nine service points as the Lady Bulldogs’ B team outlasted the Lady Pirates, 25-14, 21-25, 25-21.

Maud A squad rallies

MAUD, Texas — Brooklyn Henderson served up 12 points and Maud came back to beat Harts Bluff, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21 in a junior high A match.

Haley Tompkins and Samantha Barnette each contribute­d nine service points for the Lady Cardinals.

Mary Hill slapped in eight points, but Maud fell in the eighth-grade B match, 25-19, 25-16.

Lady Dragons earn three wins

HOOKS, Texas — Kinsley Birdwell had a match-high 16 service points to lead Hooks’ eighthgrad­e A team over Redwater, 25-17, 25-27, 25-14.

Shae Woolery served in 10 points for the Dragons.

Paris Gilbert smacked in 12 points as Redwater won the eighth-grade B match, 25-16, 25-9.

Angel Dibrell paced the Hornets with three points.

Reagan Bulkley fired in nine service points and the Dragons won the seventh-grade A match, 25-16, 25-9.

Addison Stewart had the hot hand for Hooks with seven service points.

Gracie Duncan’s six service points paced Redwater to a 25-13 win in the seventh-grade B contest.

Alaska Baker led the Hornets with five points.

Lady Mustangs win 3 of 4

RED LICK, Texas — Jordan Jones slapped in 12 points to lead Queen City’s eighth-grade A team to a 22-25, 25-14, 25-19 victory over Red Lick.

Mollie Fisher paced the Lady Mustangs with nine points.

Lanee Whatley had eight service points, but the Lady Bulldogs fell to Red Lick, 25-16, 25-17 in the eighth-grade B match.

Anna Beth Black was on fire as she served in 17 points for the Mustangs in a 25-13, 25-21 win over the Bulldogs in the seventh-grade A match.

Ali Chentham added 11 service points for Red Lick, while Queen City’s Taylor Ward had 11 service points.

The Mustangs won the seventh-grade B contest, 25-19, 15-14.

Jacossa Griffin had five service points for the Bulldogs.
