Lady Tigers fall to Mineola

TEXARKANA, Texas — Texas High’s fourth-quarter rally came up just short against Mineola in a girls basketball game Monday at Tiger Center.

The Lady Tigers were down one at halftime and seven through three periods during a 64-60 loss to the Lady Yellow Jackets.

Sabria Dean (16 points) and Tahjae Black (15) combined for 31 points to power Mineola, which got 13 points from Cyndi Butler.

Kerrighan Dunn led THS and all scorers with 17 points. Keturah Johnson scored 13 for the Tigers, and Ashanti Northcross added 10.

Lady Hawks build lead early, win

TEXARKANA, Texas — Shanequa Henry lit up the nets for 19 points as Pleasant Grove defeated Winnsboro, 68-56, at Hawk Gym.

Asia Lloyd scored 13 points for the Lady Hawks, Bryana Block had 12 points and Keshawn Davis contribute­d 10.

Addi Koller paced Pleasant Grove with 11 points in the junior varsity contest, but the Hawks fell to Winnsboro, 49-31.

Pleasant Grove hosts Longview today at noon.

TCS, Bloomburg split

BLOOMBURG, Texas — Alex Cobb’s 35 points paced Trinity Christian School over Bloomburg in the varsity boys game Tuesday night, 74-34.

Cobb also finished with six rebounds and eight steals, while teammate Zack Franklin added 22 points with nine rebounds.

Haylee Breedlove swished in 14 points to lead Bloomburg over the Lady Warriors in the varsity girls game, 35-28.

Erica Lavoie pulled down 13 rebounds and scored nine points for the Lady Wildcats.

Landi Williamson led Trinity Christian with 15 points, five rebounds and seven steals.

Hannah Leeper finished with six points, four rebounds and three steals for the Warriors.

L-K, Hooks split

HOOKS, Texas — Linden-Kildare defeated Hooks in the varsity boys game Monday night at Hornet Gym, 66-61.

Benji Johnson led the Hornets offensivel­y with 30 points and teammate JJ Johnson added 11 points.

Ty Thomerson poured in 13 points to lead Hooks’ junior varsity to a 43-32 victory over L-K.

Tawin Patterson led the Tigers with 12 points, while teammate Jonathan Owen had 10.

Lindra Burchette lit up the nets for 18 points, including 4 treys, as Hooks rolled past the Lady Tigers in the girls varsity game, 54-24.

LaSonya Nard paced LindenKild­are with eight points.

Redwater edges Avery

REDWATER, Texas — Dalton Robertson’s knocked down a buzzer beater for Redwater to give the Dragons a slight edge over Avery in the varsity boys game, 51-50.

Robertson and teammate Kaden Bowen each poured in 10 points apiece for the Dragons.

Redwater beat Avery in the junior varsity game, 44-37.

Logan McLeod and Kyle Mandarich each contribute­d 10 points for the Dragons.

Haley Latham fired in a gamehigh 18 points as Redwater sneaked past Avery, 37-36, in the girls varsity game.

Ashton Holland contribute­d 10 points for the Lady Dragons.

Julianna Burkett paced the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points and Carley Westbrook added 10.

Lady Brahmas cruise to victory

BOGATA, Texas — Mya Heath scored a game-high 12 points and made five assists as Paul Pewitt rolled past Rivercrest, 53-29, in a girls varsity game.

Sissy Jones had nine points, seven rebounds and six steals for the Lady Brahmas (8-0). Shawni Cooper pulled down eight boards and Dede Jones had seven rebounds to go with six points.

Paul Pewitt plays Detroit today at 11:15 a.m. at the Rivercrest Classic tournament.
