Jones, Mille win annual Turkey Trot

Dalton Jones was the overall winner of the Community Healthcore Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K here Thursday morning, and Crystal Mille was the overall female winner.

Jones, an 18-year-old Genoa Central senior, had a time of 17:13 over the 3.1-mile course, while Mille, 33, Pearland, Tex., had a time of 20:34.

Finishing second among the men was Adam Vernon, 31, 17:52, and placing third was Brad Taylor, 39, 18:33.

Former Redwater High School track star Matthew Cochran, 25, was fourth, 19:14, and local high school runner Lucas Edwards, 16, was fifth, 19:48.

Kasey Coggin, 30. was a very close second among the women with her time of 20:42, just eight seconds behind Mille. Cylas Langdon, 29, was third, 21:01.

There were 193 runners that participated in the race.

The youngest runners were Isaac Steele and Cheyenne Eddy, 6-yearsold, and the oldest was Phyllis Riley, 80.
