MIKE SHIMPOCK

Michael “Mike” Houston Shimpock, age 63, of Wake Village, Texas, died Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at his home.

M r . Shimpock was born August 25, 1956 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was the owner of Mike Shimpock and Associates Insurance Agency and a member of Southside Church of Christ. Mike enjoyed fishing on the creeks near Bodcaw, Arkansas, and grilling for family and friends. It is said he had the best barbecue ribs you ever tasted. He was kindhearted and would give you the shirt off his back which was always number 18.

He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Marianne Shimpock of Wake Village, Texas, one daughter and sonin-law, Michelle and Steven Gregor of Navarre, Florida, two sons, and one daughter-in-law, Steven and Rebecca Shimpock of Wake Village, Texas, David Shimpock of Wake Village, Texas; one brother, Jerry Shimpock, two sisters, Marilyn McKenzie and Sandra Akin, five grandchildren, Stephanie Shimpock, Weston Gregor, Hannah Gregor, Eric Shimpock and Daniel Sawyer and a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday at Southside Church of Christ with David Shimpock and Michelle Gregor officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Southside Church of Christ Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 P. M.

In light of the recent health concerns, the family does not wish for anyone’s health to be compromised and understand for those not attending services and visitation. They ask that anyone feeling ill stay home, and they will be grateful for your thoughts and prayers if you cannot or do not wish to attend.
