MELISSA JOHNS

-

Melissa Johns returned to her heavenly home on July 9, 2020. She is survived by her husband, Reggie Johns; her son, Nate Johns; her parents, Bobby and Carol Johnson; and her sisters, Pam Hall and Sheila Koudelka.

Melissa was born February 21, 1962, the oldest of three, to Bobby Joe and Carol Ann of Daingerfield. From the beginning, Melissa was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support. She loved her church, playing the piano and singing in the choir. On April 21, 1990, Melissa married her best friend and love, Reggie Johns, and together, they continued their walk with Christ. Melissa attended Providence Baptist Fellowship, where she worked as the church clerk and enjoyed hosting and organizing get-togethers. She was a beloved leader in the homeschool movement, being selected as 2017 North Texas Leader of the Year by the Texas Home School Coalition; and she shared her personal ministry of encouragement to everyone she met.

Melissa’s devotion to her family and firm belief in God were evident daily. She was a devoted wife and mother with a servant’s heart. She was kind, thoughtful and loving and will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
