ANITA SEDGASS

Anita Stone Sedgass, age 89 of Texarkana, Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Sedgass was born August 18, 1930 to Ruby and Vernie Stone in Texarkana, Arkansas and was a lifetime resident of Texarkana. She was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church where she volunteered many years in the nursery and preschool. She was also retired from the State of Arkansas Department of Tourism. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a caring and loving person who gave to her family and friends sacrificially. She was a graduate of Arkansas High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of seventy years, Robert Howard Sedgass Jr.; and her brother, Billy Stone.

Anita is survived by three daughters and sons in-law, Debra and David Wood of Longview, Texas, Ann and Barry McDowell of Red Oak, Texas; Carolyn and Les Smith of Texarkana, Texas; three sons and daughters in-law, Robert and Linda Sedgass of Texarkana, Texas; Charles and Linda Sedgass of Petal, Mississippi; Dana and Christie Sedgass of Frisco, Texas; ten grandchildren, Rachel and Damien Lambert, Lori and Dan Owens, Kim Sedgass, Leslie and Daniel Howland, Adam and Whitney Sedgass, Philip and Jessica McDowell, Richard and Aly McDowell, Caroline and Joseph Logan, Madeline Sedgass and Matthew Sedgass; six great grandchildren, Grant Owens, Bradley Owens, Nathan Lambert, Ryan McDowell, Evan McDowell and Carter Finigan; one sister and brother in-law, Bobbie and Hubert Easley; one sister in-law, Peggy Stone of Texarkana, Arkansas; and five nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be at 12pm Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. John Webb officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas.
