- By Rachel Jones

Scalpel, please: Your life is in good hands on the operating table — or so you think. Imagine that the person you’re relying on to save your life is actually the person who’s going to take it — it’s a nightmare scenario, and perfect fodder for reality television. Season 2 of Oxygen’s shocking “License to Kill” premieres Sunday,Aug. 9, and if you’re a true crime fanatic, this series is right up your dark and creepy alley.

Dr. Terry Dubrow (“Botched By Nature”), a famed plastic surgeon in New York, has set out to expose some of the most extreme offenders from the medical community. Each season of the dramatic series features one-hour episodes that follow the real-life cases of doctors who have taken the lives of their patients.

Oxygen is committed to telling true stories, and the wicked events are relayed through the eyes of the victims and their loved ones. Plus, each episode promises a somewhat satisfying ending, as you can watch these murderers be brought to justice and pay handsomely for their crimes.

The show, produced by Shed Media, includes executive producers such as Adam Kassen (“Puncture,” 2011), Dan Peirson (“Long Lost Family”) and even Dr. Dubrow himself. In Season 1, fans were treated to a deep dive into the frightening minds and motives of each scrub-clad slayer, and each story was crazier than the last. This season, Dubrow takes us on a fascinating exploration of those killer instincts and investigates whether killers are born or bred.

So far, we’ve seen everything from cooky therapists with “magic syringes” to ominous hospital codes that have deadly meanings and labs full of poisons.

The first episode of Season 2 takes us to New York City, where a hairpiece inventor and supposed surgeon is unmasked for botching basic procedures and defrauding his patients.Watch as a criminal is caught when Season 2 of “License to Kill” premieres Sunday, Aug. 9, on Oxygen.

Have you heard?: In the style of your favorite countdown shows and YouTube series, “10 Things You Don’t Know” gives you trivia and insight into the lives of celebrities. The program premieres Monday,Aug. 10, on E!

Each episode is a half-hour long and highlights the life of a select celebrity. It’s hard to think of the rich and famous as being “just like us,” especially when their lifestyles seem so far from an average 9-to-5, blue-collar workday. This program attempts to build that bridge, to paint a picture of what the rich and famous struggle with. With a generous helping of humor, the series digs into the sometimes crazy, sometimes surprisingly relatable lives of its subjects.

“10 Things You Don’t Know” delivers outrageous and hysterical insider scoops about the personal lives of Brad Pitt (“Ad Astra,” 2019), Jennifer Lopez (“Hustlers,” 2019),Tiffany Haddish (“Girls Trip,” 2017),Will Smith (“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”), Lady Gaga (“A Star is Born,” 2018), Keanu Reeves (“The Matrix,” 1999) and many more A-list personalities. Be sure to tune into on E! on Monday,Aug. 10, for the premiere.

Dead justice: Jeffrey Epstein, the infamous New York financier and sexual predator, may be dead, but his story certainly isn’t.A new documentary called “Surviving Jeffrey Epstein” is keeping him alive in the public eye and telling the stories of eight survivors who never had a chance to see him face justice in a court of law.The documentary premieres Sunday,Aug. 9, on Lifetime.

Epstein was arrested in 2018 and charged with the exploitation and sexual abuse of 36 girls (and these were just the girls who were identified). Then, in 2019, he was charged with sex trafficking minors in both Florida and New York. Then on Aug. 20, 2019, he was found dead in his jail cell.A judge ruled it a suicide, but conspiracy theories abound as many of Epstein’s associates were influential people with lots of power.

The two-part documentary is directed by Annie Sundberg (“The Devil Came on Horseback,” 2007) and Ricki Stern (“The Fashion Fund”) and runs a total of four hours. It reveals both the stories and secrets of Epstein’s personal life and details about his encounters with the eight survivors who are willing to tell their stories. The trailer is devastatingly hard to watch — difficult but important. As the victims describe their experiences, it becomes increasingly clear how evil this man was.Their stories are warnings to us all, but also reminders that evil is out there and should never go unpunished.

This isn’t the first time Lifetime has featured the stories of survivors. The 2019 docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly” and “Surviving R. Kelly II:The Reckoning” united voices against the singer, who has been accused of rape and pedophilia for years.

“Surviving Jeffrey Epstein” attempts to give voice to the victims who were robbed of their days in court and will never see true justice, but still deserve to be heard. It’s a part of the network’s “Stop Violence Against Women” initiative, which seeks to join survivors and political leaders to increase awareness. They’ve teamed up with non-profit organization Rise, and a PSA sponsored by RAINN (Rape,Abuse & Incest National Network) will air during program breaks.

Watch as the full story unfolds on Lifetime on Sunday,Aug. 9.
