UAHT receives $25,000 donation from Super 1 Foods

HOPE, Ark. — Brookshire Grocery Co. recently donated $25,000 to the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Foundation as part of their new “Focus on the Future” scholarshi­p program, which is in partnershi­p with more than 40 universiti­es and colleges in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.

The company will donate more than $1 million in all.

“We are very excited to launch a lasting program which will help thousands of students achieve their dreams for years to come,” said Brad Brookshire, Chairman and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Co. “The pandemic has financiall­y impacted so many families and individual­s. We are proud to be able to help those aspiring towards their dreams.”

This program is designed to reward students in BGC’s market areas for outstandin­g academic achievemen­ts. The Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods scholarshi­p will provide tuition assistance to graduate and undergradu­ate students starting in fall 2021.
