RHEVA NORRIS

Rheva Lou Cothren Norris, age 93, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in a local hospital. Rheva was born July 16, 1927, in Olive Branch, Arkansas to Lenzy and Ozella Cothren. She was retired from Atlanta ISD and started her teaching career in 1947 as a student teacher in Brightstar, Arkansas. She was a Methodist by faith and was a member of Olive Branch Methodist Church and had attended First United Methodist Church in Atlanta for the last several years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Lodge #136, Brightstar, Arkansas. She enjoyed her dachshund’s “Lil Dumplin”, “Buddy Boy”, “Rusty Rambo” and “Lil Blackie”; she also enjoyed gardening her beautiful azalea’s that where known all over town. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Wayne Norris; and her parents, Lenzy and Ozella Cothren.

She is survived by two sons, Mark Norris of Atlanta, Texas, David Norris of Atlanta, Texas; a brother, Alton “Smokey” Cothren and wife Patricia of Kingwood, Texas; and was loved and known as Aunt Waddie to a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Olive Branch Methodist Church, Brightstar, Arkansas, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Walter Burnett officiating.

Viewing will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 10 am to 5 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
