Chamber set to livestream annual event on Thursday

The Texarkana Regional Chamber of Commerce here will livestream its annual community celebration at 1:30 p.m. Thursday on its YouTube and Facebook pages.

“The livestream will be produced much like a television show. We’ll have commercial breaks and Heather Wright with KTAL will be our host,” said Natalie Haywood, the Chamber’s director of events and communications.

The livestream event will recognize hard-working individuals and organizations that stayed positive and persevered last year, said Mike Malone, Chamber president, who will make a presentation.

Others making presentations include the Chamber’s Economic Development Council, Greater Texarkana Young Professionals, the Chamber Ambassadors, Joey Martin, the 2020 board chairman and Jennifer Harland, the 2021 board chairman, Haygood stated in a press release.

The Chamber will recognize retiring board members and pass the gavel to the new chairman of the board.

Another virtual event for the annual celebration — a silent auction — is under way and will continue through 5 p.m. Feb. 5.

“We’ve got some great items in the silent auction this year … You’ll see certificates for a video production, ice chests, a power washer, jewelry, a little bit of everything for everyone,” Haywood said
