Mrs. Joyce Hall Bell, 87 of Texarkana, Texas passed away February 13th, 2021 at a local hospital.

Joyce Bell was born November 8th, 1933 in Texarkana, Texas. She was a member of Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member of United Methodist Womens, where she served many offices. Joyce received her Bachelors and Masters degree in Education at Henderson State University. She was a member of Retired Teachers Associatio­n, Alpha Delta Kappa and Northridge Tennis Club. She taught 7th and 8th grade math for many years at Westlawn Junior High when she retired. She taught swimming lessons at her home and Red Cross for many years.

Joyce was a Christian, loving, giving advisor who had a mind of her own. She was stubborn, but one thing everyone knew for sure was that she loved her husband, children and their spouses, grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. She always made sure they ate, had gas in their cars, and they had a little money in their pockets. One word that really describes her is a little spit fire.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. Bob Bell, her mother and father Cecil and Ethel Hall, sister Bobbie Chambers, motherin-law and father-in-law Joe and Muriel Bell, brothers-inlaw Bud Bell, Earl Harvey, Dick Bell and sister-in-law Ina Bell.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law; Beth and Roy Melton; son and daughter-in-law; Joe and Sharon Bell all of Texarkana; grandchild­ren Jennifer Heintschel and husband Jared of Hooks, Texas, Denver Bell, Monica Melton and Nichole Callahan and her husband Herbert all of Texarkana; Great grandchild­ren Alexis Bell, Evan Heintschel, Olivia Anderson and Jazmyn, Tytis and Novah Callahan; sisters-in-law; Frances Harvey of Mena, Arkansas and Donna Bell of Arrowsmith, Illinois; brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Rev. David and Debbie Bell of Ozark, Missouri; brother-in-law; Rex Chambers of Texarkana and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 19th, 2021 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Patrick Evans officiatin­g.

Burial will follow in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
