SelecTrucks opens in Texarkana
TEXARKANA, Texas – SelecTrucks, a used tractor truck dealership with outlets all over the United States as well as Canada, is now open here here. The company, though a Freightliner factory-authorized dealership, sells a full spectrum of recognized truck brands.
Jamie Carter is the center manager for SelecTrucks-Texarkana, as well as manager of several other SelecTrucks facilities in other cities. The Texarkana property is owned by a SelecTrucks franchise owner based in Grapevine, Texas, who also owns facilities in Memphis, Tennessee.
“SelecTrucks saw an opportunity here in Texarkana,” said Carter. “Not only do you have major transportation arteries converging here, but more major freeways being built and connecting in the area. This is a great area for trucking and logistics, and by all accounts, is only going to get more so over time. We want to be ahead of that curve.”
SelecTrucks opened here April 1.
“It was a soft opening,” he said. “We didn’t do any fanfare, just opened our doors.”
While the dealership has a wide selection of trucks on site, it also can give its customers access to other trucks in the company’s inventory, Carter said.
“We sell to all size companies, big freight lines, smaller outfits, independent individual operators and more,” Carter said.
Carter said this is a good time to be in this business and the future is bright.
“During the pandemic, with everyone ordering off Amazon and other online businesses, who do you think was moving all that inventory?” he said. “With supply lines unwinding and getting fully cranked up, they need the trucker more than ever. This is a great time to be in the business.”
