L-EISD board to meet this evening
TEXARKANA — The Liberty-Eylau Independent School District Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting today, in which instructional material allotment and waiver requests will be discussed.
After staff and student recognitions, as well as an open forum, reports will be given. This includes financial reports by Business Manager Frank Rougeau, superintendent reports by Ronnie Thompson and enrollment reports by Thompson.
Following this, consent agenda items, expenditures and investment reports will be considered for approval. Then transfer students will be discussed.
Opening regular business, the board will look to approve a waiver request regarding hybrid iInstruction during district scheduled testings days for K-8th grade students and 40% campus hybrid instruction for 9th-12th graders.
After this, instructional materials allotment and a Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) form will be reviewed, in addition to a budget amendment.
The trustees then will go into a closed session where the consideration of possible candidates for the principal position at L-E High School is expected to be discussed.
The district has been interviewing principal candidates. Action is expected to be taken on hiring a candidate either at this meeting or the May meeting.
Back in open session, the board will see reports on training hours before adjourning.
