Mayors eager to show why city is ‘twice as nice’

- BRUGGEMAN Mayor Bob Bruggeman City of Texarkana, Texas

Welcome to Texarkana, a city that’s truly Twice as Nice! If you’ve spent any time at all in Texarkana, you know it’s both a great place to live and a great place to visit, regardless which side of State Line you find yourself.

Texarkana USA is just the right amount of friendly to visitors and residents, combined with a down home Southern hospitality that will make you want to stay for a good long while. We’ve long been known for our hospitality and friendliness, but there’s much, much more to enjoy.

If you haven’t already taken the time to explore, I urge you to visit the wealth of treasures we have across this great city, from historical downtown to our parks and recreational facilities. Try out our restaurants, take in a baseball game, or attend one of our parades and festivals. Texarkana has it all! While you’re here, take advantage of our beautiful city parks, our museums and downtown Farmers’ Market. Whether you’re visiting on a weekend trip with family, are here for business or have recently made Texarkana your home, we have something for everyone.

Are you a golfer?

The Texarkana Golf Ranch is a public course and is rated as one of the top golf courses in Texas. If you’d like to try a different course, we have several more to choose from: Texarkana Country Club, Northridge Country Club and more.

If you’re looking for a place to host an event, the beautiful Hilton Garden Inn and the Texarkana Convention Center are both conveniently located near Interstate 30 and provide an excellent venue for conventions, weddings, family reunions, and more.

The uniquely breathtaking Perot Theatre downtown is a must-see attraction for live theatre acts and our very own Texarkana Symphony Orchestra. Downtown also offers eye-catching murals, educational exhibits and entertainment for the whole family. While you’re there, don’t forget to take your photo in two states at once in front of the United State’s second most photographed post office, the U.S. Federal Courthouse and Post Office on State Line Avenue.

Texarkana is blessed with excellent educational opportunities all the way from preschool through college. Quality education in Texarkana ranges from public and private preschool through high school options, to wonderful partnerships at Texarkana College, Texas A&M University-Texarkana and the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana.

Texarkana is also the medical hub for the Ark-La-Tex region. Our local hospitals and other health care facilities provide state-of-the-art health care to patients and display second-tonone attention and compassion to their families. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated group of health care professionals in our city.

We are so glad you have decided to call Texarkana USA your home. You will quickly learn to love and appreciate what makes us unique. We invite you to get involved and engaged in your community. Together, we can make sure Texarkana continues to be “twice as nice”!
