TISD board to hold public hearing on budget, tax rate
The Texarkana Independent School District will hold a regular meeting Tuesday morning in which there will be a public hearing regarding the budget and proposed tax rate for the fiscal year 2021-2022.
After deliberating in a closed session, the board will hold an open forum before its public hearing on tax rates and budget information. Later in the action/discussion portion of the meeting, the board will consider the approval of the proposed budget and tax rate.
Following special reports, superintendent information items and the consent agenda, the board will consider the approval of personnel items, the monthly investment report and the following proposals:
■ Declare surplus items
■ Net replacement for golf driving range
■ School supply vendor
■ Texas Middle School painting
■ Vehicles for child nutrition
Other noteworthy items that will be considered for approval include a 4-H adjunct faculty resolution and agreement for the 2021-2022 school year, a lease between TISD and Community Services of Northeast Texas, Inc. Head Start Program and a Texas High School Program of Studies and Course Description Guide for 2021-2022.
Other action discussion items to be addressed include a list of brokers, the final amended budget for 2020-21 fiscal year and a Thomas & Thomas Engagement letter for the fiscal year 2021-2022.
After a review of the student and community development report and a presentation of the TISD COVID Recovery and Acceleration Plan, the meeting will adjourn.
The meeting will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the TISD District Administration Building, 4241 Summerhill Rd., Texarkana, Texas 75503.
