KAY ROBERTS
Mrs. Nita Kay Pennington Roberts, age 72, of Texarkana, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
Kay was born July 16, 1949, at El Paso, Texas. She was a 1967 graduate of Arkansas High. Her father B.L. Pennington was career U.S. Army, and her family lived in multiple places during her childhood. She and her husband Jack have resided in Texarkana since 1993.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Maxine Pennington, and her brother, Barney (Skip) Pennington.
Kay, known by most family and friends as “Nan”, was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and soon-to-be “Nan the Great” to her first great grandchild. She served in ministry with her husband of 54 years, and she impacted the lives of so many with her love, compassion, and humor. She was a member of Northside Church.
Kay is survived by her husband, Jack Roberts of Texarkana, Texas, one son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Misty Roberts of Texarkana, Texas, one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Joe Langehennig of Texarkana, Arkansas, five grandchildren, J.P. Edwards, Sarah Coleman and husband Taylor Coleman, Corbin Edwards, Addison Blue Roberts, and Oliver Roberts, four sisters, Linda Deerman and husband Will Deerman of Ashdown, Arkansas, Elaine Jones of Sherman, Texas, Bonnie Dorsey and husband Gary Dorsey of Capitan, New Mexico, and Debra Smithson of Ashdown, Arkansas and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Dr. Jimmy White and Rev. Jep Cobb officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday.
