Dorothy McKeehan Singletary was at last reunited with her beloved husband, Coyle, on August 4, 2021.

Dorothy was born on July 2, 1927 to Joe and Emma McKeehan of Texarkana, Arkansas, where she grew up. She met and married Coyle E. Singletary, also of Texarkana. Both graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, where Dorothy earned a Bachelors degree in Business/ Accounting and Coyle a Masters degree in Geology/ Geophysics. Coyle worked many years in the oil business as a geologist for Union Oil of California and Marathon Oil. They lived wherever the oil flowed in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, finally settling in Midland, TX.

Dorothy and Coyle eventually had three children, Dotti, Ed, and John. Dorothy was an especially sweet, kind person, as well as a devoted and loving mother and wife. She and Coyle were both very active members of the Petro Club in Roswell, New Mexico. Dorothy was also an accomplish­ed and gifted artist. Her beautiful oil paintings adorn the walls of many admirers.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dotti and son-in law, Charley Franz of Dallas; her son Ed Singletary and his wife, Carol of Portales, New Mexico; her daughter-in-law, Terra Singletary of Memphis; three grandchild­ren, Eric, Ben, and Marshall Singletary, and her brother-in-law and sister-inlaw, Henry Singletary and his wife, Gorda, of North Carolina.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Coyle; her, youngest son, John, her parents, Emma and Joe McKeehan, and her sister, Marylou Swan.

Dorothy’s ashes will be taken to Texarkana for burial at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 12:00 pm on Thursday, Sept 9th.
