LAST WEEK: Despite only having two offensive snaps in the entire first quarter, the Razorbacks were clearly the more dominant force throughout the rest of the game in their 35-0 victory over Dollarway on Friday night at Razorback Stadium.

THIS WEEK: Arkansas High (1-1) travels to Mount Pleasant (0-2) to take on the Tigers.

OFFENSIVE STANDOUTS: Arkansas High RB Kyron Young found paydirt three times and rushed for 138 yards on just 12 carries. Teammates Tryston Powell and Luke Paxton teamed up for

for another 56 yards on the ground on five attempts. QB Layton Lammers found success through the air, completing six of his 10 passes for 124 yards and a 53-yard touchdown to Jeremiah Jones.

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS: Powell led the Razorbacks’ defense with eight tackles, while Rickie Williams, Shitez Wilkerson, Marcus Floyd, Christian Torres and Darius Hill each totaled six. Williams also recorded an interception in the win. Marcus Floyd and Demetrius Cherry both got their hands on punts as they each recorded one block.

COACH BARRY NORTON’S COMMENTS: “There were some good things and some bad things about (Friday night’s) game,” Arkansas High head coach and Athletic Director Barry Norton said. “We couldn’t get them off the field early and we thought they were going to score coming out. They would not allow us any snaps and, when they did, we turned the ball over on the first one.

“We ran the ball pretty well. (Dollarway) brought a lot of pressure up the middle on us so we were able to take the ball outside and find some success. … The game got lopsided so we couldn’t throw the ball like we’d like to do.

“The defense played hard and did everything we asked of them. I’m proud of the kids and how well they respond.”
