Sister Corine Lafayette Lewis was born January 14, 1929, to the late Estell Lafayette and Ina Eubanks Lafayette in Cason, Texas

On Friday January 21, 2022, the sweet spirit of our beloved Corine Lewis went to join the savior in that home not made with hands, but whose maker and builder is God.

Sister Corine Lewis joined the Union Missionary Baptist Church and later joined the Charity Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she remained until death. She was a member of the Usher board, and the church Janitor until her health failed.

She united in holy matrimony to the late Frank Lewis, Jr. on June 8, 1948. Corrine is the fourteenth child of fourteen children. She is preceded in death by Frank Lewis, Jr. her husband of forty years; Richard Lewis, (their nephew raised as son); Nine brothers; Estell, Quincy, Joe, Sam, Willie Lee, Arthur, Lark, Louie and Johnnie Lafayette; Five sisters, Katie Hendrix, Inez Hale, Viola Bolden, Clara Lynwood, and Clement Lafayette.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Deacon Henry (Debra) Hale III, Alma Trotter and Sonja Hunter her care takers; special nephews, Estell Hendrix, Sr., Isaiah Hendrix, Jr and Darryl Thomas; host of nieces, nephews, and other family members; China (an Austrian heeler), she cherished and loved her dog.

Friday, visitation hours will be held from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at Lyles Funeral Home, Inc.

A celebratio­n of the life and legacy of Sister Corine Lewis will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at the Charity Missionary Baptist, Fulton Arkansas with Pastor James Jackson as eulogist and Pastor Jessie Henry officiatin­g. Committal service to follow in Whitehill Cemetery, Fulton, Arkansas under direction of Lyles Funeral Home, Inc.
