Woman accused of using car as deadly weapon pleads not guilty
TEXARKANA, Texas — A woman accused of using her car to knock a man unconscious last year pleaded not guilty Monday to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Breanna Lynn George, 30, allegedly argued with a man May 23, 2021, outside the Oaks at Rosehill apartments near 11th Street in Texarkana, Texas, according to a probable
unconscious. cause affidavit. Witnesses provided a video of the encounter to investigators that allegedly showed George and a man speaking before the man is struck in a driveway and falls to the ground George allegedly stopped and got out of her older model Nissan Altima but left after people began “screaming at her.”
The alleged victim was interviewed by investigators several days later. He allegedly reported that before George was recorded hitting him with her car, she was outside the vehicle trying to hit him with a stun gun.
During his meeting with law enforcement, investigators noted the man walked with a limp and had swelling and blood in his right eye. The man reported he recalls speaking with George and being hit by the car before waking up in a Texarkana hospital.
The nature of any disagreement between George and the alleged victim is unknown.
George was indicted last week by a Bowie County grand jury. She appeared Monday with a member of the Bowie County Public Defender’s Office for arraignment before 202nd District Judge John Tidwell and entered a plea of not guilty.
If convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, George faces five to 99 years or life in prison. George is currently being held in the Bowie County jail with bail set at $150,000.
