Big designs, Lil Jon: Domestic reality and renovation show fans will not want to miss rapper and producer Lil Jon’s brand-new series, scheduled to air on Monday, May 2, on HGTV. “Lil Jon Wants to Do What?” shows the musician teaming up with expert builder Anitra Mecadon to help homeowners find their hidden passion for design.

In a news release, HGTV explains that “skeptical homeowners who feel trapped in a boring home find their design wild side” with Lil Jon as he helps them to broaden their décor minds before turning their joint vision into a reality.

An exclusive sneak peek of the first episode shows Lil Jon and Mecadon brainstorming renovation plans with homeowners Joy and Phil, who are planning to turn their basement into a family entertainment area: “We’re going to play a little game called, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if...’” Mecadon begins.

“Wouldn’t it be cool if you let us knock out all these walls,” Lil Jon replies, before positing that it would be “really cool” to sink the basement floor (even though he doesn’t “know how much it will cost”) and build a stage — all of which appears to leave homeowner Joy shaken.

Mecadon is convinced she can gauge clients’ interest in renovations by playing the “What If” game with them. She says, “By playing the game in front of the homeowners, you actually see just how far you can push them and that nervous energy kind of feeds my soul.”

“I want them to get a feel for me and not feel like this crazy rapper guy,” Lil Jon continues. “The vibe I get from the client, that’s what I’m going to give the client, so I need them to trust me.they are going to love it.”

Learn all the things Lil Jon wants to do when “Lil Jon Wants to Do What?” premieres on HGTV and discovery+ Monday, May 2.
