Dr. William J. Fanning, Jr. (Bill) 76, died August 7, 2022.

Visitation: 5-7p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Thompson’s Harveson & Cole, Fort Worth.

Funeral: 10a.m. Saturday, Aug.13, at First United Methodist Church, Fort Worth, with a reception following in Wesley Hall. Interment: 3p.m. Saturday in City Cemetery, Sulphur Springs.

Margaret Che’ann Wyrick, 20, of Waldo, AR, passed Tuesday, August 9, 2022, succumbing to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Hope, AR. Arrangemen­ts are pending with R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC, Magnolia, Arkansas.

FRIDAY CLEMIA HUEY

Reverend Clemia Thomas Huey was born in Leary, Texas on July 22, 1932, to Connie Huey and Dorothy Brown Huey. Upon his passing, he was 90 years old and had just celebrated his birthday several weeks prior. Reverend Huey was preceded in death by his parents (Connie and Dorothy), his wife of 49 years Georgia T. Huey, two of his sons Clemia T. Huey, Jr. and Victor Wayne Huey, and one son-in-law, J.D. Hooks, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are four daughters Debra Hooks (Ray), Dorothy Hooks, Angela Rowden (Darrell), and Thelma Reeves (Charles). He leaves one son, Tony M. Huey, Sr. (Linda). He also leaves one special niece, Juanita Barlow, and her mother Sarah Henderson, and one daughter-in-law, Wanda Huey. Additional­ly, Reverend Huey leaves 14 grandchild­ren, 18 great-grandchild­ren and 4 great-great-grandchild­ren to carry-on his legacy. Reverend Huey also leaves a host of other friends and family members that he cherished.

Services will be held for Reverend Huey on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 2:00pm. The location is Canaan Baptist Church, 1002 Laurel Street, Texarkana, AR 71854.

Services will also be livestream­ed on the Southwest District Facebook page as well as the Canaan Baptist Church Facebook page.

Interment at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, 1001 S. Kings Hwy, Texarkana, TX 75501.

MARY GRIMES

Mary Ruth Grimes, 74, of Ashdown, AR died Friday, July 29, 2022, in Ashdown, AR. Mrs. Grimes was born June 5, 1948, in Ashdown, AR. She was employed in Quality Control with Domtar Papers.

Survivors include her husband, Mack C. Grimes of Ashdown, AR; two sons, Marrio (Brandi) Grimes of Ashdown, AR, and Anthony (Tasha) Bennett, Sr., of Houston, TX; five sisters, Emma O’guinn, Helen O’guinn and Cheryl Starks of Ashdown, AR, and Sheila (Reginald) Elijah Sr. and Tonja (Rickey) Donelson of Texarkana, TX; two brothers, Leonard O’guinn of Ashdown, AR, and Lawrence (Barbara) O’guinn of Texarkana, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Friday, August 12, 2022, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Greater Mount Zion Church, Ashdown, AR.

Funeral services are Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Greater Mount Zion Church, Ashdown, AR, with Pastor Charles Stewart, Eulogist. Interment is in Rhodes Cemetery, Ashdown, AR, under direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary.

COURTNEY WRIGHT

Courtney Antonio Wright, 34, was born in Texarkana, Texas on February 17, 1988. He was the 2nd born child of Zenovie D. Hilliard and Karl D. Hillard. He gained his wings on August 2, 2022. Courtney accepted Jesus Christ at an early part of his life. He was a New Boston High School Graduate and participat­ed in every Special Olympic Event that he could. He won lots of trophies and medals. He enjoyed school so much he wanted to continue going.

KENNY LANE DUNCAN

Kenny Lane Duncan passed peacefully in his sleep Thursday, August 11, 2022 at his home. Heaven gained the most kind and loving husband and father. He was a great friend. He was a loving husband of 36 years to his wife Donna. His other light of his life was Paige, his daughter and her husband, Devin. He also leaves a lifelong friend Bobby Ellis of New Boston, Texas.

Kenny was born at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Arkansas on April 2, 1961. Kenny was a supervisor at West Fraser Plant in New Boston, Texas. He worked there for 38 years. He was a Baptist and member of Hubbard Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Father, Lane E. Duncan, Mother, Mary Sue Murry Duncan, a brother, Jerry Duncan and sister, Brenda Reviere.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Beth Hobbs Duncan, daughter Paige Elizabeth Duncan Parker and husband Devin Parker of Texarkana, Texas, Father in law, Kenneth Hobbs, Brothers, Bruce Duncan of Avery, Texas, Rick Gandy and wife Teresa of Avery, Texas a number of nieces, nephews, many loving friends and extended family.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Bates Rolf Chapel, New Boston with Bro. Roddy Jackson and Rick Gandy officiatin­g. Interment will be in Avery Cemetery, Avery Texas under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. before services.

Brenda C. Langston, age 70, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 7, 2022 in a Atlanta, Texas, adult care facility.

Brenda was born August 20, 1951, in Atlanta, Texas, to Oval and Nina Bell Capps. She was employed with Guard Line; and was Seventh Day Adventist by faith. She was a loving wife and mother; an avid reader; a New Orleans Saints Fan and loved to fish in her younger years. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Tristian Lane Gunn; brother, Buddy Capps, Jr. and her parents.

She is survived by her husband, James Langston of Atlanta, Texas; son, Brian Gunn and wife Amy of Stonewall, Louisiana; step-daughters, Robbin Phillips and husband Sonny of Texarkana, Texas, Tammy Rich and husband Robert of Queen City, Texas; seven grandchild­ren; seventeen great-grandchild­ren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, August 13, 2022, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Charles Hale officiatin­g.

Visitation will be Friday, August 12, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in Queen City Cemetery.

REBA LEIGH OZYMY

Reba Leigh Ozymy, of Texarkana, Texas passed away unexpected­ly Tuesday, August 9, 2022. She was 81 years old.

Reba was born August 21, 1940, in Allene, Arkansas , to Lee H and Ora Echols Mears. She was the owner and operator of Keith & Karen’s Kiddie Kollege from 1970 to 1980 in Texarkana, Texas. She also built and operated Kiddie Kollege in Ashdown, Arkansas from 1980 until 1985. In 1987 she opened and operated Kiddie Kollege in Maud, Texas through 1997. She then enjoyed her retirement years.

She organized the first Bikea-thon and Trike-a-thon for children in the 4 State area which benefited the American Heart Associatio­n. She also enjoyed Softball and Basketball.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and son Keith Daniel, and her brothers, James Mack Mears and Homer Mears.

She is survived by Dan Ozymy, Texarkana Texas, daughter Karen Ozymy and Kelli Bryan, Texas and granddaugh­ter Mallory Brown and Travis, Stephenvil­lle, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Graveside services will be 10:00 Monday, August 15, 2022 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Texarkana, Texas with Steve Minter officiatin­g under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Randy Sam’s Outreach Shelter in Texarkana, Texas.
