Noma Faye Roper, age 85, of Texarkana, TX passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023. She was born on May 4, 1937, to Joel Milburn Shipley and Grace Shipley Morgan.

Noma spent her early years of married life traveling the nation and globe as the supportive wife of a U.S. Army Paratroope­r. She returned to her hometown of Texarkana, TX in 1969 where she continued to devote herself to her family. Some of her fondest memories were spent with her late husband, Ray Roper, at their homeplace dubbed “The Leaf and Limb”. Noma loved watching the blue birds and squirrels and being in the home that Ray built for them to share.

Noma is preceded in death by her parents, Milburn and Grace, her husband Ray and her granddaugh­ter Kayle Davis Lee.

Survivors include her children Steve and Danelle Davis, Sharon and Greg Kirby; her step daughter Debra Kay Roper; her brother Joel and Ann Shipley; her siblings in-law Dorothy Roper and Linda and Joe Roper; her grandchild­ren Jason Davis, Kevin McCraw, Matt and Kristin Kirby, Kim and Carl Luepnitz; her great grandchild­ren Kaden and Linnie Lee, Kinsley and Jaxon Kirby, and Mia Luepnitz; her niece Cynthia and Rey Ramirez; her cousin and closest friend Linda and John Snyder and her beloved cousins: the Michael and Hulstine families.

Noma was kind at heart and humble in spirit. She was gifted in loving and taking care of her family. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved and valued. Many warm hugs, great home cooked meals and fond memories were shared and will be cherished. She will be greatly missed by all. We take great comfort in knowing she is spending eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Chapelwood Funeral Home, Nash, Texas.
