Mrs. Anita Block Link was born on July 4th, 1960, in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Mr. J.D. and Mrs. Mary Watson. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member. She was a cheerleader throughout her school years, served as a class officer, and was a graduate of the Arkansas High School Class of 1978. She subsequently attended Texarkana College and earned a Cosmetology degree. Mrs. Anita worked for many years as both a Cosmetologist and served as the branch store manager of a local restaurant.

In 1987, She married Mr. James Block. Later in her life, She married Mr. Kenneth Link in 2009. After her children were of school age, she made the decision to continue her education at Texarkana College and obtained her LVN degree. Mrs. Anita was a noble worker and worked diligently at several nursing facilities in Texarkana, while also being a full-time Mother, Wife, and Caregiver of her Mother, Mrs. Lou. Mrs. Anita also put her life and career on hold, in order to help her daughter, LaShundra Watson, M.D., throughout her breast cancer treatments and remission.

Mrs. Anita was a faithful and active member of Tower of Power Gospel Ministries and Mt. Orange Baptist Church, where she served as member of the choir, hospitality committee, intercessory prayer team, and the women’s mission groups.

Mrs. Anita is well-known for her lively and “tell it like it is” personality, jokes, wisdom, loving and caring nature, and her love for God. She was a living epistle, and privately prayed for and helped many people as they travelled through their personal life journey. She called and visited the sick and shut-in, widows, elderly, and anyone who needed her shoulder to cry upon. Mrs. Anita prepared and dropped off meals and gave clothes to anyone who needed them. She was there privately and didn’t desire public acknowledgment. She often stated, “Your funeral is the life you live”, and she lived a beautiful life indeed. She offered sound advice, wisdom, cooking critiques, and laughter to all that she encountered. Mrs. Anita loved hard and was a fierce protector of her children and family. Her life’s greatest joy were her children, and she will be dearly missed by all.
