TEXARKANA, Texas — Three Little Rock women have been arrested after allegedly stealing a woman’s credit card and purchasing gift cards.

Texarkana Texas Police Department officers arrested Lakiesha Ice, Keanna Hart and Karrie Hart, who were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity — credit card abuse and failure to identify — and booked into the Bi-state Jail.

Keanna and Karrie Hart were also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The women allegedly stole another woman’s wallet from her vehicle on July 20, drove to a local store to use her credit cards and bought almost $3,500 in gift cards.

Knowing that criminals often try to use a stolen credit card before the owner has the chance to cancel it, Officers Travis Frost and Cutter Webb asked the victim to use her phone to check to see if any of her cards had been used, according to TTPD.

She discovered that someone had just charged a purchase of $1,858 a minute before at Sam’s Club. Frost radioed other officers in the area to head to Sam’s Club to see if they could locate the suspect vehicle.

Officer Aaron Jones met the vehicle as it was waiting to turn onto Mall Drive from Richmond Road, just across the overpass from Sam’s Club. When he turned around to get behind the vehicle to stop it, the driver immediately ran the red light and fled on Mall Drive.

Jones was able to catch up with the vehicle, and it stopped near the intersection with Summer Ridge. He could see that the three people in the vehicle were busy allegedly trying to change clothes and throw

ing items around while they were jumping between seats. All three were detained and placed in separate police cars.

Inside the SUV, officers found a large amount of cash, a stack of new gift cards and credit cards belonging to three different people, including the victim who had just had her wallet stolen.

Police also found some oxycodone pills in a purse and the license plate that belonged on the vehicle lying on the seat.

When asked, each of the three women gave officers false names, all of which belonged to real people. Police asked an Arkansas State Police trooper to meet them at the jail and run their fingerprints through his mobile fingerprint scanner. That’s when they were positively identified.
