GENEVA TREKELL
Geneva Mccarter Trekell, age 85, of New Boston, TX passed away Monday October 23, 2023, at a Texarkana care facility.
Geneva (Nevie) was born August 1, 1938 near New Boston to Ervin and Mary Alice Fowler. On December 22, 1956, Geneva married Homer Mccarter. They were married 43 years before his untimely death in 2000. On August 30, 2008 Geneva married Landis Trekell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Homer and Landis, daughter Elizabeth Ann Mccarter and siblings Allen Fowler, James Fowler, Lovell Morehead, Veda Moore, Joe Huey Fowler, and Ellis Fowler.
She was retired from Defense Finance and Accounting Service and member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her sister Mary Riley, her children, Sheila Meador (James) and Andy Mccarter (Christy), her grandchildren, Amber Meyer (Adam), Magan Wisdom (Clayton), Paige Kiddey (Matt), Heath Meador (Lindsay), Sara Coulter, Jacey Thomas, and Adam Mccarter and 8 great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Geneva is also survived, by Landis’ family Rhonda Fields (Kevin), Cynthia Nighswonger (Tom), and Kirk Trekell (Kim), his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Bates Rolf Funeral Home New Boston, Texas. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Nash, TX. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the funeral home.

Richard Lynn “Rick” Stroman, age 62, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 22, 2023 at his residence.
H e was born January 21, 1961 in Fort Dix, New Jersey to Joe and Sue Stroman. Rick was a Christian by faith and had a huge heart. He loved life and was an avid sports fan. He played football at SMU and Lamar University, and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Rabbits.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by three brothers, Jimmy Stroman and wife Devin of Atlanta, Texas, Brett Stroman and wife Rachel of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jake Stroman of Charlotte, North Carolina; one sister, Angie Harris and husband Tim of Bartlett, Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews and host of other friends and family.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Pinecrest Cemetery, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, with Rev. Stewart Kouba officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Hanner Funeral Service.

ELBERT RHEA
Elbert Boyce Rhea, 87, of Dekalb, Texas, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 27, 2023.
Boyce was born in Lydia, Texas on July 30, 1936 to Elbert and Ides Miles Rhea. He was a dedicated supervisor at Red River Army Depot for over 30 years. He also proudly served in the United States Army and the United States National Guard both in active and reserve duty for many years. He was a faithful member of Dekalb United Methodist Church for nearly 60 years serving on the administrative board, president of the Friendship Sunday School Class, as usher and was a member of the Prayer Breakfast group. He was also honored to serve as a De Kalb City Council member.
His proudest roles in life were as husband to Nina Capeheart Rhea for 58 years, father to sons Tim Rhea (Jennifer) of College Station and Matt Rhea (Ashleigh) of Atlanta, grandfather to granddaughter Sutton Rhea (John Robert) of Hooks, grandson Cash Rhea of Atlanta, bonus granddaughter Maggie Coats of Atlanta, as well as brother to Wayne Rhea (Helen) of Dekalb. He is also survived by nieces Donna Telford Fisher (Harry), Kelly Rhea Powell (Brian), Karen Rhea Russell (Jeff), brother-inlaw Ted Capeheart (Jill), cousin Mary Carraway Clinton, as well as many more nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother John Rhea, sister Marie Rhea Aydelott, brother James Rhea, sister Juanita Rhea Jackson, and granddaughter Sydni Rhea.
Services will be Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Bates Family Funeral Home in Dekalb, Texas with Rev. Amanda Stratton officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery in Dekalb, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital or the Dekalb United Methodist Church General Fund.
