Naaman’s Premium BBQ and Prime Steaks started in the early 1980s with a geniune passion for barbecue. Owner Darby Neaves discovered his love for steaks as a teenager, when he taught himself how to cook and smoke and the passion only grew from there. In 2012, Naaman’s was made official. A small food truck parked along the main drag in Ashdown, Arkansas, quickly became a local attraction. Just about a year later, Darby and company had outgrown their location in Southwest Arkansas and moved to Texarkana.

Freshness is the key word at Jason’s Deli. It is famous for its delicious sandwiches, crisp, fresh salads and more meals made with fresh ingredients. The menus include gluten sensitive options and vegetarian options in addition to is famous salad bar. “My husband and I eat plant based…this restaurant always accommodates our unique dietary needs,” said one review.

Winner: Pop’s Place On its Facebook page, Pop’s Place said it is “the kind of place you look for when you go out of town.” Customers agree. “Let me tell you we had dinner last night and my wife had great cat fish and I had the best raw oysters and jumbo shrimp I have had other than being on Texas coast right off the boats,” one reviewer said.

Tropical Smoothie brings a little part of the tropics to Texarkana. The establishment serves smoothies in a variety of tropical flavors along with wraps and other food items. “Best healthy wraps and smoothies. Recommended 100%” said one review.
