- MALLORY WYATT

TEXARKANA, Texas — Psyche Terry has been forging her entrepreneurial ways since she was young.

“I started selling holiday wrapping paper to friends and church family,” Terry said. “I loved the idea of making people happy with a gift.”

Terry wears a lot of hats, from zumba instructor and public speaker to podcaster. She even has taken on a new role as an adjunct business professor at Texas A&M University-texarkana.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to share my knowledge and experiences with the next generation and help them navigate the business world,” Terry said.

Terry said she finds joy in pursuing her passions and using her success to make a positive impact in the world.

“Whether it’s through skincare, education, fitness or community involvement, I believe we all have the power to effect change and leave a meaningful legacy,” Terry said.

Hailing from Plano, Texas, Terry started the skincare line Urban Hydration with the goal of improving her and her husband’s skincare issues.

“My husband and I decided to create a brand that offered high-quality, affordable and sustainably produced skincare products for people of all backgrounds,” Terry said. “This venture grew from a small online store in 2009 to a national brand now available in over 30,000 retailers.” The retailers include big names such as Target, Jcpenney, Ulta and Macy’s. Most recently, Terry’s company partnered with Marvel Studios to create a new line — Power Up Your Glow. “The partnership with Marvel Studios for the Powerful Algae Acne Fighting Skincare Collection came naturally, as in our family we’re MCU lovers!” Terry said. “We previously worked on collaborations with Spider-man, and most recently we even created a special collection for ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ that is Whitney Houston’s biopic movie.”

Terry said she appreciates that the characters from the upcoming “The Marvels” movie represent diversity. She said the theme pairs well with her skincare line, which encourages customers to embrace their individuality.

Terry said her family has been supportive of her journey as an entrepreneur.

“They’ve learned the importance of hard work, perseverance and the ability to follow one’s dreams,” Terry said. “They’ve seen the impact of dedication to community and giving back, and it’s a value that we all share.”

Terry said she hopes to inspire others to be better makers and to leave the world a little better than they found it.

“Whether it’s through skincare, education, fitness or community involvement, I believe we all have the power to effect change and leave a meaningful legacy.”
