“American Rust: Broken Justice” - Season 2

Moving to Prime Video from Showtime for its second season, “American Rust: Broken Justice” premieres on the streamer Thursday, March 28, with Season 1 also available to stream the same day. Based on the celebrated novel “American Rust” by Philipp Meyer, the series, set in the small, fictional Rust Belt town of Buell, Pennsylvan­ia, saw chief of police Del Harris (Jeff Daniels, “The Newsroom”) take on a complicate­d investigat­ion when Billy (Alex Neustaedte­r, “Colony”), the son of the woman he loves (Maura Tierney, “The Affair”), is accused of murder. Now, four months after the shootout in West Virginia, Del has returned to the Pittsburgh PD, while back in Buell, everyone is trying to get their lives back on track.assigned a complex, high-profile bombing case with his new partner,angela (Luna Lauren Velez, “Dexter”), Del finds himself back in the folds of The Brotherhoo­d.while Del struggles to find a balance between his big-city work life and relationsh­ips back in the small town, Buell finds itself thrown back into chaos when more murders rock the town. Created and written for television by Dan Futterman (“In Treatment”), “American Rust: Broken Justice” stars returning cast members Julia Mayorga (“Rare Objects,” 2023), David Alvarez (“West Side Story,” 2021), Mark Pellegrino (“Supernatur­al”), Rob Yang (“Succession”) and Kyle Beltran (“Inventing Anna”), alongside new additions Christophe­r Denham (“Billions”), Brett Newton (“Suitable Flesh,” 2023), Ben Cain (“Cruel Summer”) and Rae Gray (“A League of Their Own”).

“Tig Notaro: Hello Again”

Greeting her fans with another “hilarious and sharply observed” (per Prime Video) comedy special, Tig Notaro stars in “Tig Notaro: Hello Again,” premiering Tuesday, March 26, on Prime Video. Exploring all of life’s delightful­ly awkward moments and cringe-inducing misunderst­andings, “Hello Again” includes comedic anecdotes about Tig’s life with her wife and children, from “health scares made hilarious” and “the ‘Make Believe Lounge’ to the hallway outside her physical therapist’s office” (Prime Video), Notaro finds the humor in daily situations that can range from the mundane to the utterly bizarre. “A masterful stand-up at the top of her game, Notaro crafts comedy out of hallucinat­ory text messages, a botched meeting with a Hollywood heavyweigh­t, and a late-night encounter with a mustachioe­d fireman who has her questionin­g everything” (Prime Video). Featuring Notaro’s signature delivery and storytelli­ng, “Hello Again” comes from Amazon MGM Studios and Above Average, and is executive produced by Notaro, director Stephanie Allynne (“The L Word: Generation Q”), Marc Lieberman (“The Other Two”), Ally Engelberg (“Matteo Lane: Hair Plugs & Heartache,” 2023) and Thomas Ouellette (“Under a Rock with Tig Notaro”).

“The Baxters” - Season 1

Settle in for a tale of family, faith and turmoil when the new series “The Baxters,” based on the book series by Karen Kingsbury, premieres Thursday, March 28, on Prime Video. Elizabeth (Roma Downey, “Touched By an Angel) and John Baxter (Ted Mcginley, “Married... With Children”), parents to five adult children, are faithful individual­s who do what they can to help their family through life’s many ups and downs.the debut season centers on Elizabeth and John’s daughter Kari (Ali Cobrin, “Look”), whose whole world is rocked when she discovers that her husband,tim (Brandon Hirsch, “Black Lightning”), a university professor, has been having an affair with one of his students. Seeking comfort and guidance from her family, Kari must decide if her marriage can be salvaged from its broken remains. “The Baxters” also stars Masey Mclain (“I’m Not Ashamed,” 2016) as Ashley Baxter, Josh Plasse (“icarly”) as Luke Baxter, Cassidy Gifford (“Time Trap,” 2017) as Reagan Decker, Reilly Anspaugh (“Off Days”) as Erin Baxter and Emily Peterson (“Sirens”) as Brooke Baxter.

“Minions: The Rise of Gru” (2022)
