Johnny Edward Ganter of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away at the age of 68 on April 11, 2024 after a brief but serious illness.

Johnny was born on October 2, 1955, in Texarkana, Texas and was the only child of Warren and Dorothy Harris Ganter. Both of his parents preceded him in death.

Johnny graduated from Texas High School in 1974, attended Texarkana Community College and completed a full career of more than 30 years with Internatio­nal Paper Company in Domino, Texas.

Johnny married his wife of 44 years, Debra Jamison Ganter, on July 7, 1979. Johnny and Debra have a son, a daughter, a grandson and granddaugh­ter and built a beautiful life together which included lots of family gatherings, vacations, family worship at Mt. Grove Baptist Church and Heritage Church and special times with special people. Johnny especially enjoyed playing golf, cooking delicious meals, keeping his yard well-manicured, supporting his grandchild­ren’s athletic events and attending profession­al basketball games to watch the Phoenix Suns.

Johnny lived life to the fullest. His family is grateful for the years they had with him and will continue to cherish his memory and legacy. The beauty of his time on earth will live on in the lives of his devoted wife, Debra; his son, Rashad Khalid Ganter, Sr. and daughter-in-law, Bianca Stevenson Ganter; his daughter, Jamila Diane Ganter; grandson, Rashad Khalid Ganter, Jr.; granddaugh­ter, Jordan Raquel Ganter; special grandpup, Kodak, and other extended family members.

A Celebratio­n of Life for Johnny will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 20, 2024 with viewing one hour prior to services, at Mt. Grove Full Gospel Baptist Church located at 2801 Arkansas Boulevard in Texarkana, Arkansas.
