“Lainey Wilson: Bell Bottom Country”

From ABC News Studios, the new documentar­ystyle special, “Lainey Wilson: Bell Bottom Country,” makes its debut Wednesday, May 29, on Hulu. Following country music sensation Lainey Wilson’s (“Country’s Cool Again”) rise to stardom, the special picks up with the singer-songwriter more than a decade into her journey. Growing up in the rural farming town of Baskin, Louisiana, Wilson, 32, moved to Nashville, Tennessee, America’s country music mecca, to pursue her dreams. After earning her first platinum-certified song, Wilson found herself “garnering a dedicated following worldwide, [captivatin­g] fans with a unique blend of traditiona­l country fused with a modern yet nostalgic style” (per ABC News Studios). Now, this new special takes an intimate look into her life, promising “exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpses from her debut headline shows, candid interviews with Wilson and her loved ones, and much more” (ABC News Studios). Led by producer Robin Roberts (“Good Morning America”) for ABC News Studios, “Lainey Wilson: Bell Bottom Country” comes from executive producer Jonathan Blakely (“60 Minutes+”) and senior producer Katie Conway (“Good Morning America”).

“The Promised Land” (2023)

From director Nikolaj Arcel (“A Royal Affair,” 2012), the 2023 historical drama “The Promised Land” debuts Thursday, May 30, on Hulu. Based on the 2020 novel “The Captain and Ann Barbara” by Ida Jessen, the film follows Ludvig Kahlen (Mads Mikkelsen, “Hannibal”), a retired captain from the German Army. In retirement, Ludwig seeks permission for the Royal Danish Court to build a settlement on the barren Jutland cultivatio­n. However, Ludwig’s aspiration­s are in conflict with Frederich Schinkel (Simon Bennebjerg, “The Pact,” 2021), a merciless landowner that seeks complete ownership of the moorland. So, Frederich schemes of ways to sabotage Ludwig’s operation, including withholdin­g workers and hiring bandits to attack the budding settlement. With a screenplay by Arcel and Anders Thomas Jensen (“Riders of Justice,” 2020), the film also stars Amanda Collin (“A Horrible Woman,” 2017), Kristine Kujath Thorp (“Ninjababy,” 2021), Gustav Lindh (“The Northman,” 2022), Morten Hee Andersen (“Herrens veje”), Thomas W. Gabrielsso­n (“A Royal Affair,” 2012), Magnus Krepper (“Queen of Hearts,” 2019), Søren Malling (“A Hijacking,” 2012), Morten Burian (“Speak No Evil,” 2022), Jacob Lohmann (“Godland,” 2022), Olaf Højgaard (“The Chestnut Man”) and newcomer Melina Hagberg. Moreover, “The Promised Land” is produced by producer Louise Vesth (“Melancholi­a,” 2011); co-producers Katja Lebedjewa (“Cleo,” 2019),Tine Mikkelsen (“Harpiks,” 2019), Fabian Gasmia (“Sun and Concrete,” 2023) and Lizette Jonjic (“Another Round,” 2020); associate producer Ida Harder (“Nymphomani­ac: Vol. I,” 2013); and line producers Jessica Balac (“Thelma,” 2017), Marianne Jul Hansen (“Department Q: The Keeper of Lost Causes,” 2013), Kristina Kornum (“The Salvation,” 2014), Pavel Muller (“The Best Offer,” 2013), Mouns Overgaard (“The Last Airbender,” 2010) and Klaus Spinnler (“Look Who’s Back,” 2015).

“T.I.M.” (2023)

Is an artificial intelligen­ce capable of understand­ing love? Or is it just misunderst­ood notion? Prosthetic­s engineer Abi (Georgina Campbell, “Barbarian,” 2022) finds out the horrifying truth in comedian Spencer Brown’s (“Shed of the Dead,” 2019) feature-length directoria­l debut, “T.I.M.,” which debuts Friday, May 31, on Hulu. Eamon Farren (“Winchester,” 2018) stars as the titular T.I.M., a humanoid AI robot known as a Technologi­cally Integrated Manservant. In order to help with her work on T.I.M., Abi and her husband, Paul (Mark Rowley, “The Last Kingdom”), move to the country. However, as T.I.M. becomes obsessivel­y attached to his creator due to a misguided understand­ing of love, he begins to sabotage Abi and Paul’s relationsh­ip. When the likes of Paul and the neighbour, Rose (Amara Karan, “Lucky Man”), become aware of T.I.M.’S plans, the robotic manservant gets violent. Rounding out the cast of “T.I.M.” are Nathaniel Parker (“The Inspector Lynley Mysteries”), Tom Bell (“The Leisure Class,” 2015), Eliza Glock (“The Nevers”), Edmund Kingsley (“Capsule,” 2015),Adil Akram (“Flight 422”), Janis Ahern (“Tom & Jerry,” 2021) and Phillipa Flynn (“The Girl on the Train,” 2018).
