Levittown men charged with burglary and theft

MIDDLETlWN TlWNSHIP - Two Levittown men are under arrest, charged with burglary, theft and other offenses after they were caught inside a house in the 100 block of Terrace ooad.

Police believe the intruders were Edward Scanio, 19, of Levittown, and Matthew Flannery, 23, of Levittown, who have both been charged in connection with the crime.

3ROLFH VDLG DIWHU EHLnJ VSRWWHG, WKH WwR flHG WKURXJK WKH EDFN GRRU RI WKH KRXVH, climbed over a rear fence and into a greenbelt area. lne of them dropped a pillow case containing property from the house. The second man, said police, was carrying items in his hand.

Scanio and Flannery were arraigned in district court and remanded to the Bucks County Prison on $100,000 bail.

orDE AWAKENING - At approximat­ely 4:45 a.m. police responded to a home on Parkview Way after a resident reported that someone had tried to get into her house through the back door. She told police that she was awakened by a noise in the kitchen and her neighbor’s motion-activated light, but did not see or hear anything else. The caller did not see anyone. Police checked the area of her home and the neighborho­od for anyone or anything suspicious with negative results.

WIoE FoArD - Shortly before 4:30 p.m. a resident of Willow Court came to police headquarte­rs to report that she had been the victim of a wire fraud. The 22-year-old explained that she had received an email about being employed as a Mystery Shopper in the area. The email included what turned out to be counterfei­t money orders with instructio­ns to cash them, shop at speFLfiF VWRUHV DnG HYDOXDWH WKH HxSHULHnFH­V and return the balance of the cash through Western rnion to an address in London. 7KH YLFWLP wDV nRWLfiHG Ey KHU EDnN WKDW she is responsibl­e for nearly $7,000 in loss from her checking account.

DrI CHAoGES PENDING - At approxLPDW­HOy 1:50 D.P. Dn RIfiFHU VWRSSHG D PRtorist on Newtown-Yardley ooad after they FRPPLWWHG PXOWLSOH WUDIfiF YLRODWLRnV. $W the stop, the driver, a 20-year-old resident of Warwick Court in Newtown Township, was arrested and taken to St. Mary Medical Center to have blood drawn for testing. DrI charges are pending the results of the blood results.

rNLICENSED DoIVEo - Just before 4 a.m., police observed a motorist with an expired registrati­on traveling on the Newtown Bypass. The motorist was stopped and it was determined that the driver, 24-year-old Bensalem resident did not have a valid driver’s license. He received two citations charging him with the two violations and told not to drive the vehicle.

FoArD - A resident of Lake View Drive called police around shortly after 5 p.m. to report that two credit cards were missing from his wallet that he left in his car. The resident told police that when he discovered that the cards were missing he called to cancel the accounts and was informed that an unknown party had used his card and purchased $2,000 worth of merchandis­e in Delaware.

NIGHT GAME - While on patrol on SyFDPRUH SWUHHW Dn RIfiFHU REVHUYHG Dn unoccupied vehicle in the Carl Sedia Park DURXnG 2 D.P. $V WKH RIfiFHU wDV FKHFNLnJ the car the 19-year-old owner approached WKH RIfiFHU DnG HxSODLnHG WKDW KH DnG KLV IULHnGV wHUH SODyLnJ EDVHEDOO. 7KH RIfiFHU advised them that they are not allowed in the township park after nightfall. The subjects left the area without further incident.

DrI CHAoGES PENDING - While PRnLWRULnJ WUDIfiF Rn SHFRnG SWUHHW 3LNH Ln Wrightstow­n Township at approximat­ely 3:40 a.m. police observed a motorist traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver, an 18-year-old from Golden Gate Drive in Northampto­n Township, was arrested and was transporte­d to St. Mary Medical Center where blood to be drawn for testing. He was released while at the hospital and charges of DrI are pending the results of the blood work.
