Peterson named MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Harry S Truman graduate Drew Peterson was the Middle Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after seven tackles and a pair of interceptions for Albright in a recent win over Wilkes rniversity.
Peterson, a junior free saftey from Bristol, and teammate Scott Pillar have been honored by the MAC after the Lions’ recent 27-13 road victory over the Colonels. Pillar, a senior wideout from Keansburg, N.J., was named the Offensive Player of the Week.
Peterson had a game-high seven solo tackles (10 total) as the Albright College defense shut out Wilkes for the first three quarters of a 27-13 win. He picked off two passes in the first half and added two tackles for loss.
Pillar caught 14 balls for 156 yards and two touchdowns. He caught a 32- yard fake punt on Albright’s first scoring drive, and added touchdowns for 16 and 3 yards.
This is the second time that the pair has made the MAC Team of the Week simultaneously, after achieving the feat last year vs. King’s. It is the third time Pillar has made the MAC weekly honor list in his career, and Peterson’s second career honor.
