Eric Mintel Quartet to perform at God’s Love Lutheran Church

NEWTOWN - The nationally-renowned Eric Mintel Quartet will present a concert of holiday favorites at a performanc­e on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. at The Lutheran Church of dod’s Love, Newtown.

According to the church’s Director of Music, Patricia duth, the ensemble will offer a 90-minute concert featuring the world’s most beloved carols and secular Christmas songs, all arranged in Mintel’s unmistakab­le jazz style. The highlight of the concert will be a presentati­on of works by jazz great since duaraldi, best known as the composer of the score for Ts’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. The quartet will be joined by the dod’s Love Adult Choir and singers from other area choirs for the duaraldi music, which includes familiar pieces such as “Christmas Time is Here” and “My Little Drum.”

cor nearly two decades, Eric Mintel and his ensemble have performed extensivel­y throughout the dreater Philadelph­ia area and beyond, appearing at the White House last year at a dinner reception for President Obama, his family, and special guests. Mintel also performed for President Clinton and has appeared at the hennedy Center and The United Nations headquarte­rs.

Tickets for the concert may be purchased in advance or at the door. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. duests may also purchase a combinatio­n ticket which allows them to stay for a delicious post-concert catered Advent dinner. The cost for the combo ticket is $20 for adults and $10 for children.
