The Advance of Bucks County

A Chamber Success Story

-

After starting my job at Bucks First Federal Credit rnion in September 2006 I needed a way to become familiar with the Lower Bucks County area. I do not live in the area and had very few contacts, if any, within the surrounding business community. After a short time at my new position I was told that the Credit rnion was a member of Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerc (LBCCC) and I should look into some events to attend.

Having been familiar with chambers from other jobs, I looked for events that would offer a chance to network. I started attending the Business Card bxchanges regularly and after meeting some members and making some initial contacts I was introduced to other events like the Perc (now known as the Bucks Business Connect) and the Sharpen Your bdge Business Seminars. Attending these events allowed me to network with several individuals and establish some good contacts. It also allowed me to become much more familiar with the Lower Bucks County business community.

While I did make several contacts attending events, it wasn’t until I found out about the chamber committees that I was able to really start utilizing chamber membership. After about a year of attending events I was introduced to the Marketing Committee and decided to attend a meeting. kot only did I like being more involved with supporting the Chamber, but it lead to even stronger relationships and contacts. detting active with a committee also opened my eyes to all the Chamber has to offer. I now call on the Chamber all the time, for everything from mailing lists to posting things on the website. I have always heard that you get out of the chamber what you put into it and now I truly understand what that means.
