A Woman’s Place taps new executive director
A Woman’s Place (AWP), the only domestic violence community benefit organization in Bucks County since 1976, has announced the selection of Ifeoma Aduba as its new executive director. Aduba will fill the vacancy resulting from the retirement of Donna g. Byrne in October. The appointment was made after the Board of Directors embarked on a transition planning process, during which Aduba served as director of public advocacy and interim executive director.
“Having had the opportunity to work with Ifeoma for the last five years in her prior role with the organization,” shares Board of Directors President hristin Ortlieb-Potts, “it’s clear she understands our mission and applies it on a daily basis. Whether it’s fund development, operational efficiencies, community engagement, or direct program services, AWP’s mission becomes Ifeoma’s driving vision. I’m confident she is not only the best person for the executive director role, but I believe she will help lead our organization to the next level allowing us to become a best in class example of a community benefit organization.”
A 1991 graduate of Central Bucks High School bast, Aduba graduated from Mount Holyoke College is 1995 and later completed her Master of Science in konprofit Management at bastern rniversity. Her resume includes program development, project management, fundraising, event planning, communications, operations management, and strategic planning experience. Aduba served on the development department staff of Liberty Hill Foundation in Los Angeles, Ca. before returning to Pa. and serving in the role of Major difts Officer for Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Aduba joined the staff of AWP in 2006. She has focused her professional life in the nonprofit sector and is passionate about reinventing organizations to create the best possible future and recognizing organizations for what they really are – Community Benefit Organizations.
“I am thrilled and humbled to have this opportunity to follow a line of truly incredible women leaders who had this position before I did and look forward to working with the community to create the future of A Woman’s Place,” says Aduba. “Being able to connect resources with needs for the benefit of the community is one of the greatest gifts anyone could be given.
