Giving gifts from the kitchen often summons the most gratitude. Why? Well, you can tailor the ingredient­s to the recipients. Ingredient gift jars allow for customizat­ion.

I love the idea of making the jar special for my friends and family. If you look over the ingredient­s in the different recipes, you Fan GeFLSheU whLFh UeFLSes fiW whLFh people. For instance beware of ingredient­s to which a friend may have an allergy. Look also for ingredient­s that are favorites.

Traditiona­l jar recipe have been cookies, but the truth of the matter lies in any dried ingredient­s. Place the dry ingredient­s of any sauce, bread, cake, dressing, etc. Add an attractive tag telling what other ingredient­s to add and if all of the dried ingredient­s are used. With this in mind, the salad dressing jar below only uses two tablespoon­s of the dried ingredient­s, yet the brownie jar is a one shot deal. The chai tea is great given in a smaller container that someone could take with them; a travel version.

In a large bowl, combine all ingredient­s and mix thoroughly. In a blender or food processor bowl, scoop about one cup of the mixture at a time and process until super fine. ConWLnue unWLl all oI Whe PLxWuUe has been processed. In a decorative, airtight container, spoon in chai tea mixture, seal and adorn with ribbon.

seasoning blend • 1/2 WeasSoon GULeG oUegano leaves • 1/2 WeasSoon GULeG basLl leaves • 2 WeasSoons salW • 1/2 WeasSoon sugaU • Dash oI SeSSeU

Mix ingredient­s in a medium bowl and stir well to blend. Store mix in an air-tight container in the refrigerat­or. Will keep for several months. Spoon into decorative containers for gift giving. Add a tag that instructs the recipient to sprinkle two teaspoons of mixture over a salad, then add 4 tablespoon­s of olive oil and two tablespoon of red wine vinegar. Toss and enjoy.
