Cham­ber orches­tra opens sea­son to packed house, ova­tion N

EWTOWN – “Hol­i­day Strings” opened the New­town Cham­ber Orches­tra’s 2012-13 sea­son to a packed house and a stand­ing ova­tion in Novem­ber.

Un­der the ba­ton of mu­sic di­rec­tor Rus­sell Hoff­mann, D.M.A. the fn­ter­mezzo from Caval­le­ria Rus­ti­cana was played in me­mory of Dr. Howard Leis­ter, and fea­tured cel­lists, na­tion­ally-known soloists, Daniel De­laney (vi­o­lon­cello) and David fn­loes (cello) played Con­certo in G Mi­nor for Two Celli.

The sea­son con­tin­ues with Soloists on Stage on Sun­day, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. and Springfest on April 7 at 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of God’s Love, 791 New­town Yardley Road, New­town.

The New­town Cham­ber Orches­tra is a non-profit or­ga­ni­za­tion con­tribut­ing to the rich cul­tural tra­di­tion of Bucks County.

fn­di­vid­ual con­cert tick­ets are A25 for adults and A20 for se­niors and can be pur­chased at the door or in ad­vance at­townorches­ Stu­dents and chil­dren are ad­mit­ted free. There will be open seat­ing and com­pli­men­tary re­fresh­ments are served at all con­certs.
