After persistent lobbying from r.S. Congressman Mike citzpatrick and the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation, President Obama has issued a “major disaster declaration” in Pennsylvania.

“After 75 days, the President signed a disaster declaration which will provide ORFDO JRvHUnPHnWV DnG fiUVW responders here in Bucks County with the resources to which they are entitled,” said citzpatrick last week. “This comes as ZHOFRPH nHZV WR WKH HPHUJHnFy PDnDJHPHnW RIfiFLDOV ZKR performed to the highest standards in preparation for, and in response to, Hurricane Sandy.”

He added, “While this is welcome news for Bucks County, there is still work to be done to ensure assistance is available for all the Pennsylvania counties that were impacted by Hurricane Sandy but excluded from the declaration.”

With this declaration, cEMA has made available federal funds for Bucks County directed towards “assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities” and “assistance for actions taken to prevent or reduce long term risk to life and property from natural hazards.”

“We have yet to learn the level of funding support we will receive from the Administration,” said citzpatrick, “f will UHPDLn vLJLODnW WR HnVuUH fiUVW UHVSRnGHUV DnG PunLFLSDOLWLHV receive their fair share.”
