Inaugural half marathon raises more than $47K for charity
The inaugural Trenton Half Marathon, 10K and Kids Run, presented by the Haldeman Family of Dealerships, hosted more than 3,000 runners on Nov. 10.
The event took runners through the capital district of Trenton, Cadwalader Park and across the historic Trenton Makes the World Takes Bridge and the Calhoun Street Bridge to Morrisville and back.
The marathon marked the firVW PDMRr HnGurDnFH HvHnW in the Trenton area since the professional cycling series held in the early 2000s. And it generated $47,500 for 11 charitable causes.
The Charity Partner program is now open and accepting applications for 2013. The mission of the Trenton Half Marathon and its collaboration with Haldeman was to help raise funds and awareness for various charities.
“We are proud to have been a part of this great event and to have the opportunity to be a catalyst in the charitable community. We look forward to increasing this number in 2013,” said Scott Haldeman.
Chris Seiler and three of his fellow Council Rock alumni – Ryan O’Keefe, Kevin Sullivan and Brian Mills – helped organized the event.
