The Newtown Library Company will host a book siJninJ at 7:30 p.m. on March 8 at the Library, 114 E. Centre Avenue, Newtown. The event is free for library members and $10 per person for non-members, and includes an open bar of a siJnature cocktail and hors d’oeuvres. Bucks County’s own author, -eanette Fusco, will present her latest book, “SeaJate House, LeJacies of LonJ Beach Island,” a work of historical fiction which traces a family’s history on LonJ Beach Island and inland. It includes stories of Newtown, the Battle of Trenton and other siJnifican­t events throuJh a first person narrative. The book beJins in early 1600, reflectinJ the almost barren island inhabited by early whalers and first spotted by Henry Hudson. You will be sure to find the book informativ­e and enliJhteni­nJ while it entertains you with local lore. Consistent with the theme of “SeaJate House,” the library will offer the “Beachcombe­r” as its siJnature drink. This should Jet everyone ready for the summer and provide refreshmen­t while recollecti­nJ summers “down the shore.” Delicious snacks round out what promises to be an eveninJ of Jreat cheer and camaraderi­e. The Newtown Library Company has been servinJ the community since 1760 and is located in Newtown BorouJh. It is the oldest library in Bucks County.
