Pa­triot FC Black cap­tures Europa Turf Cup

The Pa­triot FC Black U13 boys soc­cer team de­feated Philadel­phia SC Coppa to win the cham­pi­onship di­vi­sion in the third An­nual FC Europa Turf Cup held March 2-3 in aown­ing­town.

The Pa­tri­ots com­pleted pool play with three wins and no losses with vic­to­ries over FC Rev­o­lu­tion (PA), Ukrainian Na­tion­als Shakhtar (PA) and Toms River Elite Crew (NJ).

“The boys scored 11 goals and gave up only one goal but more im­por­tantly, played great soc­cer,” said head coach aarlington ‘Ma­jik’ Agu. “I’m proud of their ef­fort in beat­ing three highly-ranked teams and the sports­man­ship they dis­played through­out the two-day tour­na­ment.”

In the fi­nals, play­ing into a strong wind, the Pa­tri­ots took a 2-0 lead in the first half. The boys dom­i­nated the sec­ond half for a con­vinc­ing 4-0 vic­tory against a tough Philadel­phia SC Coppa team to take the Cham­pi­onship. The vic­tory helped the Pa­triot FC Black U13 team to move up to No. 13 in the na­tional “Got Soc­cer” youth rank­ings.
