Lingohocken celebrates 100th anniversary by hosting a parade, YMFC rolls home as best appearing overall
WYCOMBE – Sirens wailed and engines responded from throughout the county and nearby New Jersey. It appeared something major was happening Saturday morning.
And it was - Lingohocken Fire Company’s 100th anniversary.
The company hosted the Bucks County Fire Chief’s and Fireman’s Association Parade, the fiUVW LQ IRuU yHDUV, DV HQJLQHV, SuPSHUV, 0Drine units, special unit trucks, antiques and ambulances rolled through parts of Buckingham and Wrightstown townships.
Cheers and applause erupted at a reviewing stand set up next to the station, where the dignitary list included Pennsylvania Lt. Governor Jim Cawley and U.S. Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick. Joining them on the platform were State Sen. Chuck McIlhinney, State Rep. Scott Petri, State Rep. Marguerite Quinn and Bucks County Commissioners Charles Martin, Rob Loughery and Diane Ellis-Marseglia.
The Council Rock High School South Marching Band led the way, followed by LLQJhRFNHQ’V fiQHVW. 1HxW FDPH AQGDOuVLD, DRyOHVWRwQ, BULVWRO DQG USSHU 0DNHfiHOG.
Performing God Bless America, the Philadelphia Police & Fire Pipes & Drum marched passed the reviewing stand, accompanied by the Collin Abrams Memorial Hand Cart pulled by his parents in his memory..The parade also IHDWuUHG D flRDW FHOHEUDWLQJ WhH BuFNV &RuQWy 4-H program and Hutch Hamilton and his Better Way Farm team of Belgian horses.
Also rolling through the quaint village of Wycombe and passed the historic train station were emergency responders from Northampton, Plumsteadville, Chalfont, Dublin, Springtown, Hartsville, Midway, Yardley-MakefiHOG, 1HwWRwQ, FHDVWHUYLOOH, PHUNDVLH, 1Hw Hope, Langhorne-Middletown, Sellersville, Penndel, Newportville and more.
They also came across the river from Riverside and Flemington-Raritan to join the celebration.
