Bike ride, canal hike to help neigh­bors

The Yard­ley United Methodist Church holds its eighth an­nual bike ride and canal hike Satur­day, June 29. The Miles For Mis­sion: Neigh­bors in Need Bike & Hike will ben­e­fit the Tren­ton Area Soup hitchen, The ievit­town Home­less Shel­ter, A Woman’s Place, and In­ter­faith Hous­ing and De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion. On­line regis­tra­tion is avail­able at www.yard­l­ey­, se­lect­ing the link to ac­ and the key­word, Miles for Mis­sion. Par­tic­i­pants can also reg­is­ter at the start of the ride or hike, from T to 9 a.m. at Mac­cles­field Park on 5iver 5oad, iower Makefield. There will be bike routes and hikes for all abil­i­ties and for the whole fam­ily. This year hik­ers will be of­fered leisurely walks along the Delaware Canal or the trails in Mac­cles­field Park. Those want­ing a more vig­or­ous hike can step back in his­tory and visit the locks and aque­ducts lin­ing the canal on the way to Yard­ley, Mor­risville, or Wash­ing­ton Cross­ing State Park. 5iders will be able to tour Bucks County on marked roads, en­joy a leisurely ride along the Delaware Canal, or mix the two, rid­ing the canal to join one of the road routes.
