Bike ride, canal hike to help neighbors
The Yardley United Methodist Church holds its eighth annual bike ride and canal hike Saturday, June 29. The Miles For Mission: Neighbors in Need Bike & Hike will benefit the Trenton Area Soup hitchen, The ievittown Homeless Shelter, A Woman’s Place, and Interfaith Housing and Development Corporation. Online registration is available at www.yardleychurch.org, selecting the link to active.com and the keyword, Miles for Mission. Participants can also register at the start of the ride or hike, from T to 9 a.m. at Macclesfield Park on 5iver 5oad, iower Makefield. There will be bike routes and hikes for all abilities and for the whole family. This year hikers will be offered leisurely walks along the Delaware Canal or the trails in Macclesfield Park. Those wanting a more vigorous hike can step back in history and visit the locks and aqueducts lining the canal on the way to Yardley, Morrisville, or Washington Crossing State Park. 5iders will be able to tour Bucks County on marked roads, enjoy a leisurely ride along the Delaware Canal, or mix the two, riding the canal to join one of the road routes.
