Chandler Hall joins Kendal System
NEWTOWN — Chandler Hall, a community serving elders in the nuaker tradition since 1973, has become the 12th and newest member of Kendal’s famLOy oI QoW-Ior-SrofiW FommuQLWLHV and services, now in eight states.

Initially conceived as a nursing home by its nuaker founders, Chandler Hall has grown steadily since opening its doors in March 1973. The continuum of care now includes residential living, personal care, nursing care and hospice accommodations.
Values rooted in nuaker principles led Kendal to establish a federal-type governance system that blends autonomy with shared strengths. Each Kendal community is an independently owned and operated not-forSrofiW orgDQLzDWLoQ wLWK LWV owQ volunteer board. Assets remain within each local organization and under the care of each community’s board and staff.
Over Kendal’s 40-year history, oQOy fivH DOrHDdy HVWDEOLVKHd communities have become Kendal family members: Barclay Friends in West Chester in 1994; the Lathrop Communities in Northhampton and Easthampton, Mass., in 2004; The Admiral at the Lake in Chicago in 2009; Collington in metro Washington, D.C., in 2011; and Chandler Hall in Newtown in 2013.
